Design inputs
- Retained height and the water levels on both sides.
- Soil type and strength, and whether the ground is saturated.
- Surcharges: roads, buildings, stored materials, waves or boats.
- Embedment depth and anchors or walers if the wall is tall.
- Environment: salt water, UV on the exposed part, temperature range.
Because composite sheets are less stiff than steel, tall walls depend on anchors or tie-backs and correct embedment: have a geotechnical or civil engineer check the design.
Installation
- Pre-drill or jet in dense ground; drive with a vibratory or static hammer using a driving cap that protects the head.
- Keep interlocks clean and sealed where the wall retains water.
- Finish the top with a cap or waler to spread loads.

Can a vinyl seawall be used around a pond?
Yes. It works as a retaining wall for ponds, with the same design inputs: retained height, soil, water level and surcharge. Keep interlocks sealed if the pond must hold water.
